Summer 2012 seminars program
The Musical Workshop Labyrinth presents this summer’s program of seminars in Houdetsi / Crete. For the 10th consecutive year a large number of top class musicians from a wide variety of the world’s musical traditions will converge to teach repertoire, technique, improvisation and composition.
This year’s program includes 30 seminars. There are many new subjects amongst this year’s seminars including some of the foremost and innovative musicians from around the world: Erkan Oğur (fretless guitar & kopuz / Turkey), Carlo Rizzo (Tamburello / Italy), Robbie Harris (Bodhrán / Ireland), Amir Shahsar (Ney, Iran-Israel), Araz Salek (Tar, Iran-Canada), Efren López (Sound-Engineering / Spain). Also the artistic director of the Musical Workshop Labyrinth Ross Daly will teach a seminar focusing on composition within modal musical systems. At the same time 23 more seminars will be available, some of which run for 10 years now!
